The end is in sight for this project. I have been working on the quilt "on again off again". Last night I finished the last of the quilting.
Now I have to do the binding, take care of all the loose threads, wash the quilt and then it is good to go.
Al moet ek nou self so sĂȘ, ek dink die kwilt vertoon nogal mooi. / I just draped the quilt over our bed. Even if I have to say so myself, this quilt does look good.
Die kwiltwerk van nader / A close up of the quilting.
I decided on a simple pattern for the border - straight lines either side of the seam. I am not sure whether it is because I am getting "tired" of this quilt or if I just couldn't find any inspiration for a better pattern.
I had to work this strip into the backing, just to make sure that I have enough length at the back, otherwise it would have been a bit of a "squeeze".

I am very happy with the end result. This is the first time I am doing real "free motion quilting". It isn't quilt show quality, but I am satisfied.
Until later!
it is nice to get a finish I bet. I have heard free motion takes a lot of practice so I bet you did good - I have never done free motion
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 'end is in sight'! :) I'm sure you'll be glad when it's off your to do list. Beautiful blues.
