Hallooo!!!

The festive season is now again something of the past, everybody is back at work and the "rat race" started all over. Here it is also the case. But, here is a few things that happened while we were all celebrating in the festivities:

I made a fleece penguin for Hubby for Christmas. I found the pattern in a magazine. Hubby is currently penguin crazy, so this was the perfect gift for him.

Speaking of Christmas, I decided to make another Christmas quilt this year. Since I want to quilt this year as I feel like it and not because I must, I decided to start now. Nobody knows how much time I will have to spend on quilting this year. I also got this pattern from a magazine.

The picture is traced unto Muslin and as soos as I have all the embroidery thread, I will start working on this one. This is also the first block of 12.

We started the New Year with a big "bang". On 3 January, Cyclone Dumile passed us by on the West. The cyclone hit our sister island - Reunion - full on, but only passed us at about 300km away. Despite that, we had some strong winds and rain. Although is was only a category 1 cyclone, it does give you the idea of what Mother Nature can do.

If you keep in mind that we don't normally get waves, due to the coral reef around the island, than these are amazing! You can get the idea of the wind in the second photo.

Dis al vir nou. Groete!

That is all for now. Regards!
