Lentedag

Here in the southern hemisphere, spring is showing its head again. The weather is edging towards the warmer side and the desire to be out in nature is burning again. That is why our friends and us went on an hike this weekend - not so much because it was Spring day, but just because it is so much fun.

Our first stop on our field trip was at Grand Bassin. This is a crater lake. For the Hindu community, this is a sacred place and have build temples and statues for their gods, including Lord Shiva.

From there we went to the Black River Gorges for a hike. The weather threatened to rain, but luck was on our side. None the less, it was a cloudy day with a cold wind and few drops of rain. Sometimes the sky would clear up and some wonderful sunshine would pass through.

My skoene was 'n gemors, maar dankie tog vir Handy Andy!

Despite the sun, this is what our track looked like...wet and muddy. My shoes were a mess, but thank goodness for Handy Andy!

Die diere was min hierdie keer. 'n Paar voëls was sigbaar, asook hierdie outjie...

The animals were few this time. There was some birds, and then this guy...

Well, how did you spend your weekend and Spring day? Regards for now.

  2. It is hard to remember that people living in the southern half of the world have opposite seasons that us in the north. Spring is a wonderful time of year no matter where.
