This month's BOM
is from John Adams at Quilt Dad.
Although this is a lovely block, there was a moment when I thought to myself:
"exactly what did this guy smoke?" But this was - in my opinion - the
easiest block to make.
Daar is 8 stroke per
gebruik in hierdie blok, aangesien daar genoeg daarvan is.
twee blokke. Kan julle sien watter een?
These are the fabrics I chose for this block.
Since there are 8 strips, I decided to use the previous blocks' strips for this
block, because they were available. Thus, I didn't cut any new fabric for this
block. Just for fun: there is one piece of fabric that differs between the two
blocks. Can you spot it?
To make sure that I keep my fabrics in the
correct sequence, I numbered it on the back. Hey, it worked...(I think you will
have to click on the picture and make it bigger to see the numbers)
At this step and the next, I started wondering
if I am following the steps right... If it wasn't for the pictures, I don't
think I would have constructed the block right.
hierdie 'n maklike blok.
In the end everything worked out. As I mentioned
before, this was actually an easy block.
Nou, as julle jul
Off course I had to arrange everything on the
floor. Now, if you use your imagination, and add the "missing" block,
you will have the size of the quilt. Since it is not very big, and I wanted to
have a big quilt for this project, I decided to make two blocks of each
pattern. I am very glad I made that decision in the beginning, otherwise I
would have had a lot of catching up to do!
I also finished the scrapbook entry. I like this
page, but I can't explain why.
Sjoe, voel of ek nou 'n behoorlike opstel geskryf het! Hoop jul geniet ten
minste die prentjies! Lekker dag!
Gosh, it feels as if I wrote a proper essay! I
hope you enjoyed the pictures at least! Enjoy your day!
I liked that this was an easy block to make. It's not as intricate as the other blocks. I thought it may be more masculine since Quilt Dad designed it!!
ReplyDeleteWat een grappig blok is dat geworden.
ReplyDeleteHet afwijkende lapje heb ik niet gezien!
What an unusual block! Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI first had a look at the pattern last night... I had my doubts too when I saw it - lol - but after reading the pattern and seeing the photos, it is an easy block. Or better say; it's COOL! :) I shall see if I can make the 2 blocks today. I have quite some 1.5" strips. I'm glad too, I chose to make two of each.
