My embroidery quilt is progressing, up to now. I finished Block 2 and was waiting for an opportunity to write a blog post about it. While waiting for the opportunity, I finished block 3 as well. It is a small block, so no miracles happened in the meantime.

Block 4 is prepped and I have already put a few stitches on it. It is, however, to big to put in one photo, so here is the picture in 3 parts (my camera's panoramic view wasn't working with me)

What I have learned so far, is that it is very difficult to work with Metallic thread if you do not have the right needle. I hope to have a needle that will accommodate the thread very soon. Any suggestions from those of you who does hand embroidery?

Lastely, we had a visitor the other day - a guinea fowl! They pass through the neigbourhood about once a year and normally they stay away from our yard. This time there were 3, all playing around in our yard!

Tot later!

Borduur Kerskwilt

I have been working on the Embroidery Christmas quilt the last few weeks. I realised that this particular block has been a WIP for more than 2 years and so I decided to make an effort to complete it.

 Blok 1 / Block 1

I think there was one issue that I had with Block 1 and probably the reason it took so long for me to finish - it is dull. I love bright colours and the colours in this block are very...boring. The detail in the block also left me with a daunting feeling whenever I picked it up. But, I prevailed and it is finished!

Block 2 has been prepared in the meantime and I have already started working on it.

 Blok 2 / Block 2

My potloodmerke op my blok 2 is redelik lig in die foto.

My pencil marks on my block 2 is very light. This is what the block will look like when it is finished.

As you can see, this block is much more colourful and simple, thus the progress on this one is much faster and I am enjoying the pattern more as well.

Hubby just placed a mug of coffee in front of me...I think it is a hint ;)

Until later!
